Hero Activities Summer 2026

Age Guide: Born 2017

Bowling is a fun, social activity that helps kids develop coordination, focus, and friendly competition while cheering for strikes and spares. Coaching sessions will take place at Eden Super Bowl, a facility perfectly set up for this activity, and will be delivered by expert coaches who provide safe, supportive instruction to help children learn and enjoy the game. Parents, you have serious competition next time you go bowling!

Age Guide: Born 2018

OUT-OF-SCHOOL sessions at Neptunes, St. Julians. Learning to swim correctly and mastering different techniques gives children essential water-safety skills, improves technique-specific fitness, breathing control and efficiency. Delivered in collaboration with Neptunes Swimming Club and taught by qualified coaches, the programme covers strokes, turns and water-safety drills with professional guidance and progression. On an island, knowing how to swim is a vital life skill every child should have.

Age Guide: Born 2023 – 2022

Learning to ride a bike is a joyful mix of wobbling, cheering and proud grins as children discover how their legs and balance can take them farther and faster than before It is an important skill that builds confidence, coordination, and independence. Once they can pedal and steer, bikes become a passport to outdoor adventures. These sessions where successfully introduced last Summer.

Age Guide: Born 2015 – 2016

OUT-OF-SCHOOL sessions at The Billiard Hall, Mriehel. Learning billiard offers children a range of benefits including improved hand-eye coordination and fine motor control. It strengthens concentration and patience, develops spatial reasoning and basic geometry through angles and cue control. Billiard also builds strategic thinking, problem solving and decision making, while fostering social skills, sportsmanship and self-confidence through friendly play and turn taking.

OUT-OF-SCHOOL sessions at The Jungle Box, Mriehel. An action-packed activity blending fun team challenges, obstacle adventures and fitness games, delivered by fitness coaches.

Age Guide: 2021 / 2020 / 2018

Our Scratch coding sessions help children turn their ideas into interactive games and animations. In a fun and supportive environment, they learn the basics of coding while creating projects they are proud of. In todays world, understanding the basic logic of code is key to an increasingly digital world.

Age Guide: Born 2019 / 2018

Kids learning the ukulele gain basic music skills, rhythm, chords and strumming techniques while quickly picking up fun songs to play. Sessions are taught by a professional music teacher who guides beginners through simple tunes, builds musical confidence and fosters creativity in a supportive, upbeat setting.

Age Guide: 2017 / 2016 / 2015

Learning percussion is pure fun for kids—fast, physical and immediately rewarding. Playing drums and hand percussion teaches rhythm, coordination and listening skills, encourages selfexpression and confidence, and gets children moving and collaborating in group jams. Percussion is accessible (simple patterns sound great right away), sparks creativity, and turns practice into play, making music learning energetic and social.

Our STEM and Robotics sessions give children the chance to build, explore, and experiment in a fun and practical way. From simple circuits to exciting robotics activities, they learn by doing and discover how technology really works.

Age Guide: 2020 / 2019

Basketball develops fitness, coordination and agility while teaching teamwork, communication and sportsmanship. Through fun drills and small sided games, children learn fundamental skills like dribbling, passing, shooting and defensive basics. It builds confidence and decision making, under supportive coaching that emphasises skill progression and fair play.

Age Guide: Born 2017

OUT-OF-SCHOOL sessions at The Pickleball Club, Gharghur. Pickleball is a lively, easy-to-learn racket sport that gets kids moving, improving hand-eye coordination, quick reflexes, and teamwork while having a blast. Sessions will take place outside the school premises on a real pickleball court, giving children the authentic experience of playing on proper lines and surfaces and enjoying fresh-air activity with friends.

Gwilym Bugeja’s comedy magic shows are a riot of laughter and wonder, combining clever tricks with playful audience participation that keeps kids hands-on and fully engaged. His curious style invites children to explore how tricks work while sparking imagination, and his super funny delivery guarantees giggles, gasps, and memorable moments to remember

Age Guide: Born 2016 / 2015

The objective of this programme is to promote, encourage, and celebrate cultural diversity. It aims to unite children from different backgrounds and help them come together, learn to connect, relate and grow as a group. It helps them understand that being different is not only acceptable, but, more importantly, also fun.

Age Guide: Born 2019

The Dance programme uses movement as a pedagogical tool to support learning, creativity and personal development. It encourages freedom of expression through nonverbal, embodied communication and seeks to develop self-confidence and positive self-esteem. The sessions improve body awareness, coordination and spatial understanding whilst promoting inclusivity by valuing diverse abilities and learning styles.

Age Guide: Born 2018 / 2017

The Mixed Media programme encourages and nurtures an appreciation for art, history, culture, craft, and nature. It supports the development of children’s cognition and fine motor skills, dexterity, hand–eye coordination, creativity and problem-solving abilities. The programme also aims to develop children’s art criticism and cooperative learning skills, while celebrating cultural diversity bringing together children from different backgrounds to connect, relate and grow as a group and helping them understand that differences are not only acceptable but also enriching and fun.

Age Guide: Born 2020 / 2019

Karate offers children many benefits. It builds strength, flexibility, coordination, and overall fitness while teaching focus, self-discipline, and respect for others. Through regular practice and graded progress, kids gain confidence and goal-setting skills, learn safe self-defense basics and improve concentration and impulse control. Karate helps kids make friends, work as a team, and build determination and a positive attitude they can use everywhere.

Handball is a fast, energetic game that’s pure fun for kids. It is full of running, throwing and quick passes that keep everyone moving and smiling. It builds hand-eye coordination, agility and teamwork as players learn to strategize, support teammates, and celebrate goals together. Easy to pick up and adaptable for all skill levels, handball encourages friendly competition, boosts fitness, and creates lively social moments that make playtime active and memorable.

Age Guide: Born 2023 / 2022 / 2021

Dance is a vibrant art form we’ll explore in its many styles. Lessons will be led by Kinetic Dance Academy, who have collaborated with Funsize Heroes many times and their deep experience brings the perfect blend of fun and technique. Their engaging approach makes every session lively ,accessible and so motivating that even those who think they don’t like dance will find themselves tapping their feet and joining in.

Hockey is a fast-paced, thrilling sport that gets kids running, stick-handling, and working as a team. Every game is full of quick passes, speedy breaks, and buzzy moments that keep players and fans on their toes. It builds balance, coordination, endurance, and teamwork while teaching strategy, sportsmanship, and quick decision-making. Fast-paced, social, and thrilling, hockey keeps kids active while creating lifelong friendships.

Age Guide: Born 2015 / 2016 / 2017

Origami, the art of paper folding, is a joyful, hands-on activity for kids that sparks creativity, improves fine motor skills and concentration, and teaches patience and following stepbystep instructions. Turning a flat sheet into animals, flowers or geometric shapes gives instant, tangible rewards that boost confidence, encourages problem solving and introduces basic concepts of symmetry and geometry, all with minimal materials and lots of fun.

Age Guide: Born 2015 / 2016

Calligraphy, often called a lost art, offers kids a beautiful, tactile way to slow down, improve handwriting and develop fine motor control, patience and focus. Learning letter forms and ink techniques connects them with history and cultural traditions, sparks creativity through personalized projects and builds pride as they produce elegant, lasting work making it a calming, rewarding skill for young learners.

The art of puppet shows is a delightful mixture of fantasy and storytelling, where simple figures come alive to weave imaginative tales that captivate young audiences. Puppets are playful and whimsical, carrying children into magical worlds full of wonder and make-believe. Through lively characters, voices and movement, puppet shows spark creativity and curiosity while keeping kids laughing and engaged. Beneath the fun they often hold meaningful lessons about friendship, courage, kindness, and problem-solving, making each performance both entertaining and gently instructive.

The Crafts Room is a chill creative hub where imagination runs wild, a break from the hustle to dive into hands-on art and craft sessions. Designed especially for our younger students, these workshops spark curiosity and confidence as kids unwind, experiment with bold materials and walk away with one-of-a-kind, handcrafted pieces.

Keeping physically fit through fun exercises and games with our Funsize Fitness teachers. We practice balance, coordination and teamwork, using different equipment as we learn about different sports and challenge ourselves.

After the success of last summer’s sessions, Funsize Entrepreneurs is back in business. Our Heroes learn the importance of delivering a product that is in demand, having enough stock for its demand and being prepared while learning to adjust. With their teammates, they will create a simple product, market and sell it. They will need to pay for raw material and also pay taxes through their earnings.

Age Guide: Born 2017 – 2023

We learn to appreciate the beauty of the Art around us as we discover various mediums through which we express our creativity. As we follow the themes of the week, we learn about various artists and become artists ourselves.

Age Guide: Born 2020 – 2023

From classical to modern, from hip hop to rock, we learn to appreciate the music around us. We learn about the different instruments that make up an orchestra and we make our instruments and play them for fun.

Nothing beats the summer heat like a splash in the pool and some water games. Prepare your swimsuits, put on your sunblock and get ready to get wet.

The love for food is something that most of us share. We engage in following simple recipes, learning about various ingredients and making (…and eating) delicious food.

• All crafts, art and cooking supplies are included in the above prices.

Parents will only need to supply basic and personal tools.

• Outings are not included in fee – Outing details will be communicated at a later date.

Transport

Transport fees cover full Summer term

Transport Details and Terms

• Fees are to be paid directly to the transport operator. 30% non-refundable deposit by end May 2026 and 70% before the start of the Summer Club.

• Transport fees and are not included in the Summer Club fee.

• While it is possible to give us a different pick-up and drop off address, it is important that these addresses remain consistent.

• Transport is not available for Early drop-off extra session starting at 7:30am

• Transport is also available for late sessions finishing at 2pm.

• Good behaviour will be expected from everyone using the transport service. If bad behaviour is not corrected, transport subscription may be cancelled to ensure the safety of other children.

• Pick ups in the morning may start from 7am for long routes. Trips may take 60 to 90min.
